After scoring the Bengals first touchdown in Week 10 against the Steelers, A.J. Green only played a few more snaps before he sat out for the rest of the game. He injured his knee as he came down with the ball in the end zone. While he was out of the game, Jerome Simpson and Andre Caldwell, the team's No. 2 and No. 3 receivers, failed to step up and take Green's place and it was clear that without A.J. Green, the Bengals passing game isn't nearly as good as it is with him.
Many have worried about Green's health moving forward. It was already announced that the Bengals placed their best cornerback on Injured Reserve and it would be devastating to learn that Green would be out for the season as well.
During his weekly Monday press conference, Marvin Lewis didn't go very deep into Green's status but he did let us know that Green should be fine.
That's literally exactly what he said, "A.J. should be fine."
Green is leading all rookie receivers in yards, with 635, and touchdowns, with six. He's on pace for a 1,000 yard receiving season and looks to be every inch of the receiver that Bengals fans hoped he would be when the team drafted him with the fourth overall pick in the 2011 draft.
We'll update you on Green's status as the week progresses.
